Students: Island Learners"I like SEEC because we have all these new kids come over here." -Emily, Grade 6Like the one-room school houses of the pioneer days, Saturna Elementary School has a small number of year-round students. Our talented and enthusiastic year-round island students range from kindergarten to grade eight. With an incredible student/staff ratio of 3 to 1, our local learners excel in a multi-age learning environment where individual potential, cooperative learning and integrated instruction support all that we do. Complimenting our focus on the development of ecologically literate and responsible citizens, we are a creative community of writers, readers, mathematicians, scientists, artists, dancers, musicians, actors and explorers. The Saturna Island students are excited to be joined by new SEEC participants! |
