Details
Schedule
Students attend SEEC three days per week: usually Monday to Wednesday, then plan and use the remaining four days of the
week to best meet their own academic and personal needs.
We do not have a set daily time table, but work, play and learn together from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm each day and sometimes
into the evening.
Transportation
Our students usually arrive on Sunday evenings via BC Ferries at a student travel rate, or on Monday mornings via free
water taxi from Salt Spring Island. They return to their home ports on Wednesday afternoon, arriving in Ganges, Swartz
Bay or Tsawwassen between 6 and 7 pm that evening.
Costs
Our program is offered free of charge to any student registered with the Gulf Islands School District. We are
currently working on partnership agreements with other school districts so that we may extend this incredible
offer to learners everywhere! Talk to your school counsellor right away if you're planning to attend.
Residency
SEEC currently offers free island home stays to all of our students and are looking to construct residential
facilities in the near future. We organize healthy and delicious group meals each evening, while students plan
and supply their own breakfasts and lunches.
Signing Up
There's only space for 12 SEEC high school students every semester. If you are serious about trying something new,
then print out our One-Page Info and Registration Form and take it to your school counsellor and your parents.
Then, either mail or fax us the completed form.
Advance Visit
If you need help making your decision, then arrange with us to visit SEEC during school hours and see what's
happening at SEEC. Your parents might want to come along on this exploratory visit and make it into a mini-holiday
on Saturna Island.
