SEEC Semester

Overview

High School Students, are you ready to:
  • go beyond the walls?
  • escape social pressures?
  • leave the large group crush?
If you are, then you are ready for a SEEC Semester:
  • learn through doing
  • explore the natural world
  • discover your potential
  • belong to something fun
  • live with a small group
  • feel respected, inspired and purposeful

A SEEC Semester involves grade 11 and 12 students from all over the province, who live and learn on Saturna Island for a semester (or more!) of stimulating and intense graduation credit courses.

The Saturna Ecological Education Centre (SEEC) is a kindergarten to grade 12 public school located on beautiful Saturna Island in British Columbia's Gulf Islands School District.

Our students thrive through the power of small group learning, where class sizes of no larger than 12 learners per teacher ensure that everyone is included, honoured and successful.

SEEC's place-based approach to learning blurs the lines between school and the community so that both are one and the same. Our island is our classroom and our people and the natural world our teachers.
